More pics of Stephanie + Brad’s reception

Since posting Stephanie + Brad’s wedding last week, several of our bride’s have emailed requesting more pics of their set up at the Coconut Club.  Enjoy these pics of the details we designed with the couple!  Images by Kai-Photo.

Stephanie + Brad: Anela Garden and the Coconut Club

Stephanie and Brad picked not one, but two hidden gems to host their destination ceremony and reception:  Anela Garden is a quaint house-turned-wedding venue located on the slopes of Diamond Head, while the Coconut Club boasts the most amazing views of Waikiki from the 21st floor of the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel.  We love it when certain things unexpectedly fall into place on wedding day.  For this occasion, arriving at the ceremony to find bougainvillea trees in full bloom in the wedding color brought upon my “happy dance.” The other was the rain stopping the minute before the bride walked down the aisle. Stephanie and Brad raised the bar on their reception decor by enhancing the Coconut Club with specialty linen, chair covers, square monkey pod chargers, china, custom escort cards and menus, and beautiful, bright, tropical floral decor elements using roses, mokara orchids and pincushion protea.  Images by Kai-Photo.

A Modern Twist: Nancy + Rob

It’s not often that our couples are able to visit Hawaii for their scouting trip prior to their wedding day, so I was thrilled when our couple Nancy and Rob let me know that they would be flying in for a visit last summer.  When we met again during wedding week the synergy between us kicked right back in (we had a blast during their ceremony rehearsal!)  Nancy and Rob’s vision of a modern decor style in shades of green and purple came to life at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Rainbow Patio and Suites.  One of the things I loved about this couple was their bravery in being open to different ideas.  I was given a decor direction from them that included green table linens, green perimeter lighting around the banquet room, and chair covers with sage green sashes.  It was not long before we realized the room would be entirely green and traditional in style, which was not what they were after.  They were open to ideas and eventually decided on a geometric patterned table runner which set the stage for their reception decor.  The centerpieces were simplistic yet elegant and the chairs were visually “light.”  I also loved the bit of humor portrayed via their wedding cake.  Images by Kai-Photo Hawaii.
