A Modern Twist: Nancy + Rob

It’s not often that our couples are able to visit Hawaii for their scouting trip prior to their wedding day, so I was thrilled when our couple Nancy and Rob let me know that they would be flying in for a visit last summer.  When we met again during wedding week the synergy between us kicked right back in (we had a blast during their ceremony rehearsal!)  Nancy and Rob’s vision of a modern decor style in shades of green and purple came to life at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Rainbow Patio and Suites.  One of the things I loved about this couple was their bravery in being open to different ideas.  I was given a decor direction from them that included green table linens, green perimeter lighting around the banquet room, and chair covers with sage green sashes.  It was not long before we realized the room would be entirely green and traditional in style, which was not what they were after.  They were open to ideas and eventually decided on a geometric patterned table runner which set the stage for their reception decor.  The centerpieces were simplistic yet elegant and the chairs were visually “light.”  I also loved the bit of humor portrayed via their wedding cake.  Imagery by Kai-Photo Hawaii.

Sarah + Don: Kualoa Ranch – Secret Island and Moli’i Garden

Happy New Year!  It’s only fitting that we begin 2012 with a brand new website and blog.  In the coming weeks we will be adding more weddings to our portfolio, and in the meantime we’ll be sharing some teaser images of our recent weddings via our blog!

Sarah and Don’s summer wedding at Kualoa Ranch was surely a day to remember.  Both airline pilots, it’s only fitting that this couple chose a destination wedding!  With a decor style and color palate inspired by the Bird of Paradise flower, their wedding day came to life in shades of orange and purple via tropical flowers, cake and favors.  The ceremony at Secret Island was followed by a cocktail and appetizer hour, live entertainment, dinner and dancing at Moli’i Garden. Images by Kai-Photo Hawaii
